Five benches with views of Galicia

Publicado Por: Simply Galicia En: Our Recommendations Comentario: 0 Golpear: 2668

We have heard many times about the most beautiful bench in the world. And, although we can't decide which one takes the official title of winner, what we do know is that Galicia hides some of the most impressive views on planet earth. And, today, we discover some corners of our land that you can not miss if you are visiting the community.

“The best bank in the world”, cliffs of Loiba

This fever for the most beautiful banks in the world in Galician viewpoints seems to have started in the cliffs of Loiba, in Ortigueira, back in 2010. At that time, a Scottish group that was participating in the well-known International Festival of the Celtic World of Ortigueira was enraptured by the views offered by the viewpoint of O Coitelo. In this location there was a wooden bench, placed the previous year by a local resident. The band decided to engrave on the back of the seat “the best bank in the world”, referring to the cliffs, although it was soon replaced by the bench.

And, as a curiosity, the Concello de Ortigueira, has the trademark rights for “the best bank of the world”.

“Galiza. It's different”, Campo da Rata

The Vigo estuary, the Rande Bridge, the Cíes Islands, the bateas or the island of San Simón are some of the protagonists of the landscape offered by the bank that reads “Galiza. It's different”.

Located at the top of Campo da Rata since 2015, in Redondela, we will have to make a short walk to reach these views that are certainly worth it.

The group of benches in Noalla

The coastline of Noalla, in the parish of Sanxenxo, is home to numerous shoals. The first of them is located in Punta Faxilda. In addition to this, there is the one located on the island of Outeiriño, overlooking the chapel of A Lanzada - in fact, it is known as Lanzada bench - and one in stone on the beach of Pragueira.

The best bench in Ribeira Sacra, at Nogueira de Ramuín

The interior of Galicia is also home to some of the most beautiful views of the community. In this case, it is those offered by the so-called “best bench of the Ribeira Sacra”. This is located, since 2017, in the Miradoiro do Pé do Home, in Nogueira de Ramuín.

The initiative arose to enhance this place, inaccessible by car, and encourage visitors to approach a location that will delight us not only with the vineyards adorning the canyons of the Sil, but also the Curva de A Ferradura or the pier of San Estevo.

A bank fascinated by Galicia, fervenza of Budián

In Zas, in the interior of the Costa da Morte, we will find the water route of Zas. The path will delight us with a rural landscape and a walk along the river. In the parish of Budián we will find a bench overlooking its beautiful waterfall.

The curious and different thing about this one is that it even teaches us a little Galician with the phrase engraved on it: “aperta, enxebre, orballo, bico, quérote... Galiza fascina, o galego namora”.
