Fisterra by the sea

Publicado Por: Simply Galicia En: Our Recommendations Comentario: 0 Golpear: 1137

Fisterra is known for being the place where "the world ends" in Galicia. And what better way to discover it than by sea, because Galicia is land and sea in equal parts. From Simply Galicia we have prepared an excursion to Fisterra by boat every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday of the month of August.

We will visit Muxía, Fisterra with boat ride, the Ézaro waterfall and Muros. The price of the tour is 45 euros per person and includes bus transportation, the official Spanish / English tour guide and travel insurance. Children between 3 and 12 years old will only pay half of the amount and children under 3 will travel for free. The itinerary that we will carry out will be as follows:

  • Santiago de Compostela: departure by bus at 9:15 am
  • Muros: stop in the old area and the port of this fishing village, a reflection of the Galician culture and tradition where the sea is the protagonist. Their houses with arcades and galleries and their picturesque atmosphere draw attention.
  • Cascada del Ézaro: visit of the spectacular waterfall of the Xallas River, which crosses Ézaro to end up flowing into the sea in cascade, the only case in Europe. From its viewpoint you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the town and its coastline.
  • Fisterra: the end of the ancient world. Place where the pilgrims who come to Compostela meet the immensity of the ocean. Upon arrival, boat trip of 1 hour and 15 minutes by the cape and its beaches. On board, Galician Lodeiros vermouth tasting and an appetizer. Free time to eat in the village. Visit of its Lighthouse, the most important of the Costa da Morte, guide of the boats for its dangerous waters.
  • Muxía: we will visit this town to visit one of the most traditional marine sanctuaries in Galicia, "Nosa Señora da Barca" located in a spectacular location on the seafront. Place where the tradition says that the apparition of the Virgin to the Apostle Santiago took place.
