That number of three figures is what Galicia will have on its beaches this year

A total of 107 blue flags makes the community to have 20% of all the state's flags. The trick is that Galician sands are synonym of quality. Actually, it is uncommon to see a beach in Galicia without the prestigious blue flag. A recognition that rewards the fulfillment of standards of hygienic, sanitary, security, accessibility, information, sanitation and lifeguard conditions.

By provinces, A Coruña has 38 blue flags assigned in 11 municipalities. The municipalities of Boiro (7), Arteixo (7), Oleiros (5) and A Coruña (5) are the most recognized of this type obtained this summer, with a total of 24. In addition, the city of A Coruña retains all its arenas in the list, Riazor, Orzán-Matadero, San Amaro, As Lapas and Oza.

In the province of Pontevedra there will be 55 beaches distinguished by the blue flag, distributed among 13 municipalities. Apart from those which had the recognition last year, the sandy beaches of Samil, in Vigo, which receives the insignia for the first time, Panadeira (Sanxenxo) and Loira (Marín) are added to this year's edition. Sanxenxo stands out as a benchmark at the national level, with a total of 14 flags. Also with a significant number of recognitions are Vigo, with 10 award-winning beaches, Cangas (7), Marín (5) and Baiona (5).

The Province of Lugo reaches, on the other hand, 14 distinctions, the same number as in 2018, since a beach disappears in Burela but gains another in O Vicedo. Foz is, once again, the most recognized council with five awards for the beaches of Areoura, Peizáns, Liás, As Polas and A Rapadoira.

This summer we are waiting for you in Galicia to enjoy the best beaches in the country. Book excursions with us!
